ROCKFORD (WREX) — A neighborhood veteran got a massive shock when he came residence Friday.
Gene Schaefer were amazed with a free of charge exterior house makeover from Randy Palmeri and Son Contracting.
Dozens of family members and close friends were there as the Palmeri spouse and children awarded the Schaefers with the makeover after obtaining a number of entries in the 2022 giveaway.
Gene and Sue have volunteered for several years to drive veterans to clinical appointments in Wisconsin.
“Following my time in the assistance, I want to give back again to other folks and veterans,” Gene Schaefer claims.
“Most of the guys listed here are members of the American Legion, the VFW, or the DVA,” claims Sue Schaefer. “If you happen to be a member of a person, you are normally a member of all of them.”
