Interior Of The Road

Home of the Week: 19340 Telegraph Springs Rd | Entertainment

This revamped four-bedroom farmhouse in Purcellville featuring two full and two half baths provides the quietude of the countryside with all the amenities of the city. This single-family home features a two-car garage and more than 3,200 sqaure feet of space. It’s listed for $1.125 million.

Originally built in 1987, the home’s fenced-in yard boasts tall trees with lush foliage in the front that provide shade during hot summers. One of its main selling points is a five-stall barn adjacent to a pasture that Cricket Bedford, of Thomas and Talbot Estate Properties, Inc. described as “a horse lover’s dream.”

Both the main home and barn have been updated, and are “turn-key ready,” Bedford said. In the back, an in-ground swimming pool offers a perfect spot for entertaining or unwinding in the heat.

While most of the home’s two-story exterior is wrapped in vinyl siding, the front entrance to the house is covered in an elegant stone exterior, featuring a blue front door that matches shutters on the first and second floors. The entryway’s exterior also features an enclosed front porch with white columns and banisters.

The interior invites guests to explore its updated, open-concept kitchen, living and family rooms on the first floor. White walls and ceilings contrast against medium-dark hardwood flooring, and pendant light fixtures give the space a contemporary feel.

A staircase leading up to the second floor stands directly in front of the main entrance, while the open-floor plan of the living room, dining room and kitchen expand off to the side. A peninsula with white quartz countertops beneath two pendant lights separate the minimalist kitchen from the living room.

The kitchen’s cabinetry is clean, white and understated, with the same quartz countertops throughout. Its refrigerator, ovens and dish washer preserve the white motif, while a white subway tile backsplash maintains the room’s simplicity and elegance. A stove top with four gas burners is set into the countertop opposite two ovens set into the millwork.

Past the kitchen, family and guests can enter a family room with white walls, ceiling and cabinetry. A stone fireplace becomes the centerpiece for the room, and to its left, a set of large, glass-paned double doors allow natural light to flow in and provide access to the backyard swimming pool. A half-bathroom is conveniently located off to the side of the family room.

The main bedroom suite upstairs hosts an airy bedroom with off-white walls and plush carpet, in addition to a spacious walk-in closet behind a sliding barn door. The suite’s bathroom, meanwhile, contrasts white walls and ceilings with a gray double vanity topped with gray and white stone that matches tiling in the shower. The bathroom’s gray floor tiles also add a pop of color to the space.

The rest of the second floor hosts another three bedrooms with updated carpet, as well as a completely renovated full bathroom with gray floor tiles contrasting against white walls, ceilings and the vanity.

A lower level provides several different entertainment options, with a recreation room, wet bar, half bath, as well as a utility room and multipurpose or media room.
